Job Description

Intern, Software Engineer – Fusion 360 (PDMS-MFG-DMD)

Position Overview

  • As a software engineering intern, you will join a team developing Autodesk Fusion 360 – an innovative cloud connected CAD, CAM, CAE tool which connects the entire product development process to Autodesk cloud platform. We’re looking for someone who is excited and motivated by the idea of delivering functionality which delights and aids customers, and is motivated to provide solutions to internal teams to help them build their functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, implement, test and troubleshoot product features and cloud workflows to provide great user experience
  • Implement, enhance, troubleshoot tools which help boost team productivity
  • Work as an integral member of a high performance, self-organizing Scrum Team making valuable contributions
  • Investigate and, as necessary, prototype technologies and algorithms relating to the task
  • Demonstrate excellence in product design and implementation with regards to efficiency and scalability
  • Prepare, present, and discuss benefits and risks of alternative software implementation approaches

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS or any Engineering discipline from reputed engineering college
  • Strong C++ knowledge
  • Well-versed with OOAD
  • Good knowledge of Data Structures, STL, Memory Management
  • Willingness and motivation to adapt and learn unfamiliar areas/technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic exposure to web technologies like REST APIs, cloud computing and web services, JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of git and source code management
  • Exposure to multi-threading concepts and usages
  • Passionate about robust software design
  • Ability to learn new programming languages quickly
  • Self-directed, willing to take initiative with minimal supervision

Intern Software Development (PDMS-MFGFusion360)

Position Overview

  • Fusion 360 is Autodesk’s new, innovative CAD, CAM and CAE tool. Fusion 360 connects the entire product development process in a single cloud-based platform that works on both MAC and PC. The main goal of the project is to improve stability and usability of Fusion360. The product is developed for multiple platforms – Windows and MAC.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and do Proof of Concept for new ideas/workflows
  • Design and develop UI (User Interface) for functionalities
  • Do detail efficiency study of some workflows in the product and work towards improving it.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelors / Masters in Engineering
  • Good programming in C++ and familiarity with Object Oriented Design and Analysis
  • Good understanding of UI Programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with QT would be a plus
  • Good understanding of Data Structures
  • Good understanding of Computer Science principles (pre-processing, compiling, linking, profiling, etc.) as applied to Software Product Development.
  • Exposure to DevOps concepts
  • Web service familiarity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with CAD tools, geometry and Mathematics
  • Excited to understand CAD and Fusion360 users and workflows, to enhance usability
  • Knowledge of javascript and CI/CD
  • Excellent ability to learn, adapt and deliver
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
