Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline.
- Hands-on work experience (5-7 years) in Mainframe software development.
- Ability to understand Java and distributed front end technologies is a plus.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
- Knowledge on SWIFT message types is a plus.
- Deep understanding of the software development life cycle.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work well independently.
- Experience with complex system integration projects.
- Experience working with business analysts, database administrators, project managers and technical architects in multiple geographical areas.
Technical Skills:
- COBOL, CICS (background transactions), DB2, JCL, MQ, DB2 Stored Procedures is a must.
- Java, Endevor, FileAid, Tracemaster, Angular, git, Jenkins, VSAM, SYSVIEW, IDz (IDE), ESP scheduler, Dumpmaster is a plus.
- Confluence/ JIRA/ Sharepoint Tools.
Job Description
- Tech Lead App Dev ->> Works on designing and coding heavy duty COBOL, background CICS programs and DB2 for a critical high volume, message processing application.
- Analyzes requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon’s standard development methodology.
- Partners with the front end Distributed (Java) team to provide software solutions and technical support to meet business function needs.
- Aspires to develop software as well as provide technical subject matter expertise to those involved at the business and project levels across the full technology stack (e.g., Java, Angular, COBOL/CICS, SQL).
- Collaborates with many infrastructure groups and QA team within BNY Mellon as well as other internal application groups.
- Contributes to defining time tables and project plans.
- Proposes innovative and creative technology solutions.
